How does the Da Vinci Color work

The Da Vinci Color produces full color 3D prints using Inkjet technology. Droplets of ink are layed down on to specially formulated 3D Color-inkjet PLA that is specifically designed to adsorb the ink. This process enables the XYZ Color to create 3D prints with many different colours by combining different colours Da Vinci Inkjet ink. The Da Vinci color comes with a spool of the 3D color-inkjet PLA and Da vinci Inkjet cartridges  so that you can start creating full color 3D prints straight out of the box.

As with all XYZprinting 3D printers the Color is designed to be easy to use.

So, the first thing to note, and something not to forget, is that the Da Vinci Color is a great 3D printer. It has a good build quality with a high degree of accuracy, XY precision is 0.0125mm and the Z precision is 0.004mm.

The printer also comes with an enclosed build area. This is great for not only protecting hands from the hot parts during printing but it is also extremely important for extrusion consistency. Enclosing the print area shields the extrusion process from drafts and environmental variability in air flow which can result in variation in extrusion during a single print. Reducing this variability improves the quality of the 3D print giving the Da Vinci Color a consistent quality in 3D prints.

The XYZ Color has a layer resolution of 0.1-0.4mm so that you can print both high resolution prints and also faster low resolution prints where minimum feature size is not a problem. This is great for optimising your work flow and saving on filament when high resolution printing is not necessary.

The Da Vinci Color is also easy to use with a 5″ color touch sensitive LCD screen. XYZ printing prdie themselves on making easy to use software so that it is easy to operate your printer. The XYZmaker software used to control your printer via Wifi or USB is also very easy to use yet versatile. The Printer itself also comes with Filament Auto-feed and a completely automated bed levelling routine so that calibration is extremely easy.

The 3D Color Inkjet CPLA is tougher than normal PLA so that it is great for even functional prototyping. It has great impact resistance and is very easy to tool and also bonds well with adhesives.
