Description

The Liquid Crystal Precision stereolithographic (SLA) 3D printer

The Liquid Crystal Precision 1.5 is the new Daylight resin SLA 3D printer from Photocentric. Photocentrics range of Daylight resin SLA 3D printers have been developed as low cost SLA / DLP 3D printer that uses LCD light rather than laser light to cure daylight curable resins to make highly detailed 3D prints: All the quality of an SLA 3D printer with half the cost. Stereolithographic printers use light to cure resin in layers building up a 3D design, they have a greater resolution that traditional FDM 3D printers and are more suited for fine work.

The LQ Precision is a high resolution SLA 3D printer ideal for casting jewellery

This is specifically designed for those making high resolution models such as for jewellery design

Features of the LQ Precision LCD DLP 3D printer

The LQ precision features a 2k resolution LCD screen that uses a 5″ display. The XY pixel size is only 0.047mm to give unparalleled precision for fine detailed and accurate model creation, fantastic for designers and the development of products of small size where attention to detail is a prime requisite. DLP printers tend to be faster than traditional laser SLA printers as the whole layer is exposed to light at the same time.

Photocentric’s Daylight resin give one of the lowest cost 3D printer resin solutions at around half the price of conventional resins. Photocentric Daylight resins also come with a range of different material properties to suite any need, from hard to flexible, including castable daylight resin, great for designers that want to 3D print castable jewellery items. All resin is water resistant so that there is no need for the use of alcohol in post processing.

In order to give high accuracy Photocentric’s Precision DLP printer is engineered with a strong rigid structure together with a high performance linear drive to maintain z-axis accuracy. The Precison 1.5 features a factory homed build platform so no need to re-home the platform.

The vat system comes in two forms. Disposable plastic vats or you can buy the optional aluminium vat and re-skin. The machine comes with 2 plastic disposable vats.

In a nut shell it is a 3D printer with a quality build providing high precision DLP 3D printing at a low cost.

The Liquid crystal uses daylight resins that are currently available in Firm, Flexible, Hard, Tough, High Tensile and Castable formulations.

Available types of Daylight resin by Photocentric for the liquid crystal range of DLP 3D printers

So no matter what the job their is a resin that can fit its needs. Daylight resins come in 5 colours: Amber, Cream, Green, Grey, Red & Black (dependent on material and availability).
