Description
Note that
the Liquid Crystal 10″ is no longer manufactured. The alternative machines from Photocentrics range of Daylight resin SLA 3D printers are:
The Liquid Crystal 10″ stereolithographic (SLA) 3D printer
Photocentric have developed a low cost SLA / DLP 3D printer that uses LCD light rather than laser light to cure daylight curable resins to make highly detailed 3D prints, All the quality of an SLA 3D printer with half the cost. Stereolithographic printers use light to cure resin in layers building up a 3D design, they have a greater resolution that traditional FDM 3D printers and are more suited for fine work.
Features of the Liquid Crystal 10″ LCD DLP 3D printer
Firstly, the main thing to note about the Liquid Crystal 10″ is that rather than using laser light it uses high resolution LCD screen with specially formulated daylight polymers. This fact means that the hardware used in the manufacture of the printer is cheaper than conventional SLA printers, this lower cost is reflected in the low cost of this SLA printer at half the price of laser SLAs. This means that whether you are a designer, engineer or artist you can produce high resolution 3D prints at a fraction of the cost.
The Liquid crystal uses daylight resins that are currently available in 3 forms, Firm, Flexible and Hard formulations.
So no matter what the job their is a resin that can fit its needs. Daylight resins come in 5 colours: Cream, Green, Grey, Red & Black; flexible is currently only available in Amber of Black.

Award winning 3D printer and 3D printing manufacturer
In fact the revolutionary Liquid Crystal 10″ is so good that it won the IDTechEX Europe 2016 “Best Development in 3D printing” award. Frank Copper, one of the Judges said:
“My vote definitely goes to the Photocentric Ltd Liquid Crystal entry which shows a lot of novel new ideas and application potential. Its potential for large format high resolution yet low cost printing is extremely exciting indeed.”
Photocentric themselves have also one the Queens award for Enterprise and Innovation 2016.
