Description
Whats better than having a dual extruder 3D printer? Having a dual Independent extruder 3D printer. The great advantage of an IDEX system is that you it greatly improves both your work flow and also the quality of prints that use dual materials/colours.
Firstly, with its Duplicate and Mirror printing modes it means you can print multiples of the same model , or left and right versions of a model, at the same time, effectively halving the speed of printing two objects.
Secondly, if you are printing an object with multiple materials / colours you don’t get any mixing of the filament in the extruder that can cause material/colour bleeds. This makes for much better quality prints.
So you get the the great advantage of an IDEX system on the tried and tested format of the Flashforge Creator Pro.
Flashforge Creator Pro 2 features
Dual IDEX extruders
Did we mention it has dual independent extruders? As outlined this has advantages both for print quality and productivity. The printer can be operated in 2 additional new modes of Duplicate and mirror printing.
Duplicate Mode allows you to print the same object twice, on both sides of the build plate, at the same time. One object per extruder. Whilst you cannot print mixed colour material objects you can print your objects in different colours.
Mirror mode means that you can print a mirrored version of your object. This is great where you need to print left and right versions of an object easily.
Support Mode is where You print with an additional material in one of the extruders for the support structure created by the slicer software. HIPS with ABS would be a good combination here.
Multi-material Mode allows you to print a single object with two colours or two materials. You can use solid infill Support filament with this like PVA filament for those really complex parts. or print an object with ABS and PLA or even just in two different colours.
X/Y Extruder Calibration
This printer also features X and Y extruder calibration. This helps to ensure that both extruders are calibrated to eaah other ensuring the best quality of your print.
Wiper anti-scraper plates
The Extruders move back to their respective home positions after they have been used each time during a print. With the improved metal cleaning wipers this action removes residual filament from the nozzles that otherwise would effect the quality of your print.
Fully enclosed Build Area
The Flashforge Creator Pro 2 has a fully enclosed build area to help with consistent extrusion, especially for materials like ABS that are prone to warping. It reduces the effect of environmental effects like drafts on the consistency of your print.
With PLA, its best to remove the top cover and open the door.
Easy to use LCD Touch Screen Control
The Flashforge Pro is now even easy to use directly from the Touch screen interface. Easily change settings on your printer and manually operate it.
