nGen_FLEX is made for those who are seriously looking for a engineering grade semi-flex material. We have used this on a Prusa i3 with a 0.98mm layer height and a 2.5mm nozzle with a Wade’s Extruder and it worked very well, so like all Colorfabb filaments it is very printable. It is Semi-flexible, meaning it is stiffer than classic NinjaFlex which in a lot of ways means that you can print very functional items, it’s not just for rapid prototyping.
Why ColorFabb nGen Flex?
nGen-FLEX is a new elastomer material that is a semi-flexible material with good printability on most 3D printers so that specialized flex extruders should not be necessary. It has a Shore A hardness level of 95. You can change how flexible your part is by adjusting infill and perimeter settings.
The other great characteristic of nGen Flex 3D printer filament is it’s high temperature resistance and good chemical stability so that you can 3D print functional parts for real world applications. It can withstand temperatures up to 125C and can be steam sterilised to 121C.
