Hygroscopicity, the tendency to absorb moisture, is a great enemy of 3D printing, as it is a prominent characteristic of most thermoplastic materials. Even a small percentage of humidity can negatively affect most filaments and, therefore, the end result of the print job, not only through imperfections which appear on the print surface, but also damaging its mechanical properties. Correctly storing your filament will have, then, a significant effect in the overall quality of your printed parts.

Humidity controlled environment
One thing that effects print performance is the moisture content of your filament. The Smart Cabinet houses your filament in a humidity controlled environment reducing moisture uptake, extending the life of your filament and improving print quality. Filament can be printed with whilst in the dryer compartment.
There is a drying unit with Silica Gel open to the cabinet. This absorbs the moisture from the cabinet. Once it is saturated the gel is isolated from the material and is heated up to remove the collected moisture, purging it from the gel. This keeps the filament in optimum condition.
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
The Smart Cabinet comes with its own UPS unit. It provides up to 2 mins of extra printing time during a power outage. This is time enough for it to return to the home position as if the print was paused.
Ample Storage Space
The Smart Cabinet has ample storage space for not only the filaments your using but your other commonly used filaments. You can store up to 8 small spools (0.75-1kg) or 4 large spools (up to 2.5kg). So you can store enough filament for multiple sequential jobs.
The cabinet also features a handy tool draw with all the utensils you might need. And there is an extra storage compartment under the Dryer.
