The XYZ DaVinci 1.0 Pro 3D printer the easy to use and versatile 3D printer with open source filament system and enclosed build area

Why the DaVinci 1.0 Pro

XYZ printing focus on the entry level 3D printer market. The DaVinci 1.0 Pro desktop 3D printer  is like the Da Vinci 1.0A but with added versatility, allowing users greater control over their 3D printing and opening up the possibility of filaments that can be used. It is built to be easy to use with an emphasis on plug’n play 3D printing. You can also add the Da Vinci Pro Laser engraving print head to personalise any of your models.

The Da Vinci Pro 3D printer features

One of the major differences between the Pro and the previous Da Vinci 3D printers is that you can use 3D printer filaments from any manufacturer, it has an open filament system, this together with an upgrade of their XYZware allows you to be able to adjust multiple print settings like: print speed; Print support; retraction settings; extruder temperature. You will have to discover what settings work best with what filament but it means that even speciality filaments can now be used.

The Da Vinci Pro has an Auto Loading filament system for easy changing and installing of filaments.

With it’s new print bed calibration system the onscreen software instructions will give you live feedback on your bed levelling using the DaVinci Pros bed level Detection software.

You can connect to your printer wirelessly, giving you greater connectivity than before.

This XYZ 3D printer has a build volume of 20cm x 20cm x 20cm which is extremely impressive for this price bracket.

It boasts a good sized build area of 20cm3, larger than most in it’s price range. and a range of layer resolutions to give you maximum options for your printing.

Importantly the print area is enclosed with a heated bed. This is great for ensuring the consistency of your printing between jobs and is ideal for both PLA and ABS, helping to reduce warping and improving print bed adhesion. The Da Vinci Pro also features an all Aluminium print bed which gives a better heat distribution and faster heating for reduced print warpage and better print adhesion.

It’s a safe printer too; having and enclosed build area helps protect prying fingers from the hotend and print bed during use making it an ideal choice for schools and the home.

XYZ Pro printing Software

the XYZware Pro software makes it very easy to download and upload designs from and to the 3D printing community. It is very easy to use and will have you printing your first designs in no time. The Pro software gives you the power and versatility to really hone your printing, allowing you to tweak your settings to give you that perfect print.

1 review for XYZ da Vinci 1.0 Pro

    :

I bought this printer when it first came out. I pre ordered it. I have had it for a couple of months now and being new to 3d printing, I don’t have anything to compare it to. This is my first (and only) 3d printer.
I researched and chose this one because I can use different filaments with it and it has a pretty big print area and it has wifi. This printer uses filament cartridges. One of the first things I printed was a rear mount extended spool holder. It works great. Now I can use the larger 1 kilo spools. So far I have printed in abs and pla. I had bed adhesion issues right away and started experimenting and learning. I tried blue tape and the glue stick, 3d eez, and finally a plate by Gecko Tek. This made a huge difference for me. The prints stick when they should and pop off when they should.
The wifi is great. I can print from any computer on my home network.
I am still confused by some of the settings. There is a place in the menu in the printer to set nozzle and bed temps. There is also a place in the software for this. The bed seems to be limited to 90 degrees Celsius. ABS wants hotter and it just won’t go any hotter. And the print speeds seem very slow to other printers. My printer prints at 14 mm/sec. I can change it in software, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference when printing.
I had a learning curve, there are some bugs, but overall I like this printer and I would recommend it to a friend. It is solid. It is not plug and play by any means but I figured it out and I’m sure others have also.
